Job Description

The company

This ambitious and entrepreneurial business take pride in their delicious range of products across retail, brand and food service. They are growing fast and are now looking for a talented Process Technologist, who can support the concept to launch cycle within an innovative and fast-moving category, to join their team.

The role

Reporting to the Head of NPD & Innovation, you will play a pivotal role within the team, being responsible for the end-to-end trialing of new and existing food products. You’ll be working closely with key internal stakeholders, ensuring that the customer-approved recipes are not only cost-effective, but can be successfully produced at scale in line with the factory capability.

This role will be the go-to within the team for all factory-based product queries relating to the trialing and launch process, so ensuring trial documentation is accurate and having a full understanding of the product is key to success within this role.

You’ll be able to assimilate trial results and feedback, and by liaising with the cross-functional teams you’ll be able to work collaboratively to adapt and enhance products quickly and effectively to ensure all new products meet both customer expectations and production capabilities. Completing post-trial activities such as organoleptic assessments, transit suitability testing and QAS building will also be a key element to this role.

The candidate

We are seeking an ambitious, confident and hands-on Process Technologist who can jump into this fast-paced role and be able to work independently whilst being a key part of a cross-functional team.

You’ll be an effective communicator with both key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure all products are effectively trialled and re-worked in line with the customer expectations and deadlines.

You’ll relish the chance to solve product problems with a practical, hands-on approach to ensuring trials are completed efficiently and to maximise factory resources.

Ideally you will have experience within food manufacturing, for branded, food service or retail own-brand products. Experience within the chilled food sector is preferred and you will need to have good knowledge of the NPD process, factory trial documentation, critical path management and creating commercially viable products.

You must have excellent organisation skills coupled with the ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly and get started on new projects.

If you have a real passion for food and thrive on the hustle and bustle of a busy environment with lots of exciting product launches, then this could be the role for you! Apply now or call 0345 2600 737 / 07700 137 110 to speak to Georgina for a confidential chat.
