Through Business Banking (BB), our global network offers comprehensive support and services to businesses in the SME market. From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to-end solutions designed to help small businesses reach their potential.
We are currently seeking a proactive and customer-focused individual to join this team in the role of Relationship Manager.
The Relationship Manager will provide dedicated customer service to a portfolio of clients with accountability for sales, service, risk, and operational delivery. This role involves working with both external and internal stakeholders, including Sales, Product Development, Risk, and Compliance teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Face-to-face meetings with SME clients, managing a portfolio of 50-70 clients
* Managing portfolio incomes of approximately £1.5 – £2m and SME clients with a £2-15m turnover
* Driving revenue growth by understanding customer needs and adopting a needs-based approach to increase new business
* Growing the business sustainably by identifying opportunities to expand the portfolio and leveraging HSBC's extensive network
* Building a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights and deliver fair outcomes
* Conducting proactive credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* Experience in relevant environments such as Business/Corporate Banking or Financial Services
* Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs
* Experience in commercial lending is advantageous
* Experience in delivering excellent customer service and seeking innovative improvements
* Ability to build effective networks and develop trusting relationships
* Understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance
This is a hybrid role covering Birmingham, Black Country & Worcester, Coventry & Warwickshire areas, with face-to-face meetings 3 days per week.
