About the role
As a Cloud DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing Legado’s Azure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and process automation. Alongside the solution infrastructure there is an element of internally supporting colleagues.
Staying updated with industry trends and best practices is a key part of your role, as you will be identifying opportunities to boost operational efficiency along with troubleshooting system performance and availability issues and implementing and maintaining security best practices and compliance requirements.
You will collaborate across the Legado teams, working with cloud technologies, application development and DevOps processes. You will report to the Lead Cloud Infa/DevOps engineer, Luke.
Primary Responsibilities
Roles
· Cloud Infrastructure Development: Assist in the design, development, and management of Legado’s cloud infrastructure through IAC templates (Azure Bicep) and Azure DevOps pipelines.
· Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting system performance and availability issues.
· Security: Assist in implementing and maintaining security best practices and compliance requirements.
· Documentation: Assist with writing, reviewing, and updating relevant documentation to aid knowledge transfer within the team and wider business.
· Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Work closely with lead engineer and the wider business to enhance overall system reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
· Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, recognising opportunities for potential system and process improvements, such as automation solutions, to boost operational efficiency.
· Internal Technical Support: Help/Support colleagues with internal technical issues with software plus hardware maintenance and procurement as required.
Experience
As a mid-level Azure Infrastructure / Azure DevOps Engineer you should have 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure services, including core infrastructure components such as virtual networks, virtual machines, storage accounts, and Azure EntraID (Active Directory).
You should have a strong background in implementing Infrastructure as Code using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform, and be proficient in YAML CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes (AKS) is often required, along with scripting skills in PowerShell or Python. A solid understanding of security best practices, monitoring solutions (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics or Datadog), networking fundamentals is also essential.

Ideally you will have some Microsoft certification such as the following.
- AZ900
- AZ104
