(OGT) is a disruptive start-up business that produces the world's first wrapper-free nutrition bars for cyclists, runners and active outdoor sportspeople. We are looking to hire a Production Supervisor who can lead the charge in producing our bars and fulfilling our rapidly growing order volumes during a time of exciting growth.
This is an operational leadership role which will involve working full-time on-site at our Hitchin factory. We are looking to grow quickly so weekends and out-of-hours work will sometimes be necessary and rewarded. We are looking for someone who is prepared to go above and beyond to deliver for our customers, and share in our success as we meet our ambition of scaling to become a mass-market sports nutrition supplier.
Role Overview
We're looking for a driven, diligent and detail-oriented Production Supervisor to lead our hard-working production team. This is a pivotal role in our operations, responsible for overseeing the manufacturing, quality assurance and order fulfilment process from start to finish. You'll need to be able to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment and be willing to work towards ambitious and rewarding targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee, coordinate and lead in daily production and fulfilment activities; this is a hands-on role.
* Organise and coordinate shift schedules and ensure efficient workflow to meet production, quality and fulfilment targets.
* Maintain high standards of product quality, food safety and team health and safety.
* Hit targets and KPIs throughout the day so that the team stays on schedule to meet demand.
* Supervise, train, and motivate new and existing members of the production team.
* Monitor stock levels, maintain accurate production records and traceability.
* Identify and address process inefficiencies alongside the Operations Manager, streamlining workflows, reducing waste and improving operational efficiency, implementing improvements where necessary.
* Keep production and packing areas organised, clean, and audit-ready always.
* Liaise with the Operations Manager and other stakeholders to align on stock, orders, and delivery schedules.
* Support with scaling up operations as the business grows—including equipment, staffing, and systems.
What We're Looking For
* Experience: Leadership in food/drink production or a manufacturing environment and ability to work independently.
* Adaptability: You'll be managing shifting priorities and growing volumes and need to be able to organised, calm and reliable under pressure.
* Hands-on mindset: Happy to do any tasks as required
* Attention to detail: You care about every bar, box, and batch.
* Highly organised: You can coordinate a team and a production line whilst sticking to KPIs like throughput and yield.
* Hunger to grow: You are ambitious and will be a key player in a mission-driven startup.
* Confident communication: Ability to give clear, constructive feedback.
* Computer Skills: Comfortable with systems, reporting, and light data input.
