We are seeking a Consultant-level environmental professional to support our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the UK, based from any of WSP’s UK offices. Our portfolio includes projects across sectors such as onshore and offshore renewables, aviation, nuclear, and rail. We value creative spirits, dedication, and a solid grounding in environmental design, assessment, and management throughout the project lifecycle.
As one of the UK's largest environmental consultancies, WSP is involved in challenging and high-profile projects, from small developments to major infrastructure schemes. Our Environmental Management and Assessment Team manages the environmental aspects throughout these projects' lifecycles, from concept to completion.
Our early engagement helps shape projects to reflect environmental and community sensitivities. We work closely with specialists and other professionals to develop proposals that enhance the environment and communities, aiming for benefits like improved habitats, cleaner air and water, reduced carbon footprints, and overall environmental gains. We also collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure environmental commitments are met during implementation.

A Little More About Your Role…
As an EIA Consultant in WSP’s Environmental Assessment and Management team, you will collaborate with technical specialists and design teams across sectors to manage environmental inputs to project designs and assessments.
The role suits an enthusiastic individual interested in influencing, managing, and delivering environmental aspects of engineering projects across sectors such as rail, highways, energy, and commercial/residential developments, from feasibility to planning, detailed design, construction, and handover.
You will help manage projects, coordinate tasks related to bidding, project delivery, and financial management, and work with a UK-wide team committed to inspiring work and fulfilling careers. Typical weekly activities include:
* Coordinating environmental assessments and EIAs
* Collaborating with diverse environmental specialists to shape sustainable projects
* Developing innovative techniques, including digital EIA
* Preparing engaging environmental statements, sustainable design reports, and bid proposals
* Managing time, budgets, and costing for new work proposals
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
* Degree in an environment-related field
* Membership of IEMA, IES, CIWEM, or similar professional body
* Experience supporting energy projects, including EIA
* Knowledge of environmental issues and UK planning regimes
* Experience in sectors like energy, highways, rail, housing
* Experience liaising with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external bodies
* Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills
