Caretaker (Casual, On‑Call), Ballymena Immediate start £13.26 per hour We are seeking a flexible, reliable Caretaker to supervise and provide access to the community centre, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and offer support to users of the facility. This role involves security, customer service, cleaning, and basic administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the centre. Key Duties (Summary) Act as primary key holder, opening and securing the community centre as required. Maintain the security of the premises, respond to call-outs, and control access to the building. Provide on-site supervision during bookings and activities, ensuring health and safety requirements are met. Carry out regular cleaning, litter removal, and upkeep of all areas inside and outside the centre. Use equipment and cleaning materials safely and correctly. Assist the public by responding to enquiries and supporting users with the online booking system. Set up and clear away equipment and furniture for activities and events. Report accidents, incidents, repairs, and defects promptly. Perform daily fire safety checks and maintain required logbooks. Maintain an inventory of equipment and update records when needed. Support Council events and follow all Council policies, including health and safety. Deliver a high standard of customer service, handling queries and complaints professionally. Participate in mandatory training and contribute to the overall goals of the Community Planning and Development Department. Essential Criteria Applicants must have a minimum of Entry Level Essential Skills qualifications in Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy. Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have six months (1 year’s if they do not meet Criteria 1) experience in: the operation of facilities to include cleaning and security duties. Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have six months (1 year’s if they do not meet Criteria 1) experience in: dealing with members of the public and queries.
