What you'll be doing?
Within the Construction environment, think about buying materials, managing big projects, ensuring health and safety and customer service. At any given time, you'll find us working on some circa 400 developments in both towns and rural areas across the UK, and every one poses unique challenges. Some are from scratch on brownfield sites; others see us adapting existing buildings, like old factories or disused hospitals.
We need people who can bring us fresh ideas and imagination on one hand, and the commercial ability to manage people, budgets and costs on the other. Reporting to the Site Management Team you will assist in building quality homes for the future.
You will be expected to:
To carry out all works on site as instructed by the Site Manager and in line with BDW standards and procedures referring to the good practice guide and NHBC Guidance
Take personal responsibility for Health and Safety on site, use walkways and ensure that all equipment is kept clean and tidy.
Build Foundations as per details and to good practice guide standard. Using correct silo mix. (Divisional)
Build superstructure ensuring cavities are kept clean and wall ties cleaned down to prevent any RI's from NHBC inspections and all fire stopping is completed to acceptable standards. Using correct mortar mix
Do not alter scaffolds and ensure that working area is kept clear at all times to prevent falls
Maintaining clean working area and material free access to scaffold and escape routes
Ensure working area cleared at all times
Ensure proper PPE and Safety eye wear is used when cutting stones blocks and brick
Before completing every lift, ensure that the Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager has inspected the lift to ensure that it complies with the current requirements
Complete projects in line with the sites build programme
Waste Management
Ensure materials are segregated and disposed of in correct skips
Ensure any reusable materials are removed from skips and stacked for reuse
Any waste material should be removed from the scaffolding using the facilities provided.
Working with forklift
Ensure that gates are closed after forklift supplies blocks and mortar to the loading bay
Ensure that empty pallets and rubble are removed from the loading bay area to ensure it is clear
Ensure fork lift operator is aware of the above information.

Reliable and hard working
SVQ Level 3 Certification with appropriate CSCS Card
Abrasive wheels and Manual handling training
