Forklift Operative
Location: Newton Abbot
Pay Rate: GBP12.58 per hour
Hours:
* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am 4:00pm
* Friday: 8:00am 3:30pm
Contract Type: Temporary
Reporting to: Production Control Manager
About the Role
We re recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Forklift Operative to support their busy production and dispatch operations. This is a hands-on role involving the safe movement of high-value equipment, stock handling, and supporting the wider production team.
You ll be working in a fast-paced environment, operating a variety of forklifts and assisting with loading, unloading, and internal logistics.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate counterbalance forklifts to move stock and equipment safely
* Load and unload deliveries, including large and high-value items
* Support stores and dispatch teams with picking, packing, and stock control
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment
* Occasionally support off-site deliveries and collections using company vehicles
What We re Looking For
* Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (with evidence of training from a regulated body)
* Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or logistics environment
* Comfortable handling large or high-value items
* Good attention to detail and a strong safety mindset
* Flexible and proactive approach to supporting the wider team
