Clare House School Porthcawl is seeking to appoint a caring and nurturing Teaching and Learning Support practitioner (Early Years) to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to help create a distinctive Early Years provision from the very beginning, supporting children aged 3 to 5 within an environment where every child is celebrated, known and encouraged to thrive.

Role overview
1. Support children’s learning and development through play-rich, experiential and child-centred approaches
2. Engage actively in children’s play, extending learning through interaction, questioning and purposeful conversation
3. Contribute to the creation of stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments that encourage curiosity and exploration
4. Support children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development through strong relationships and responsive care
5. Observe and reflect on children’s learning, contributing to assessment and next steps alongside colleagues
6. Support daily routines, transitions and wellbeing to ensure children feel safe, secure and ready to learn
7. Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and the wider school community
Requirements
8. Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare
9. Strong understanding of child development and play-rich learning
10. Commitment to creating inclusive, relational and child-centred learning environments
11. Ability to support children’s learning through observation, interaction and reflective practice
12. Confidence working collaboratively as part of a growing and values-led team
13. Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to pupil wellbeing
