About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Production Technician to join a specialist manufacturer of high-precision geophysical equipment, supplying bespoke tools to clients around the world. Based in Glan Conwy, North Wales, this role is ideal for someone with a mix of electrical, electronics, and mechanical skills who enjoys working in a hands-on and varied environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical and electrical assembly of precision tools and components
Fault-finding, repairs, and troubleshooting of returned equipment
Functional, performance, and reliability testing of products
Calibration of data acquisition tools
Use of test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers
Creating test procedures and maintaining quality control documentation
Assisting with the packaging and preparation of customer orders
Liaising with the manufacturing team as needed
What We're Looking For:
Practical mechanical skills with attention to detail
Solid electrical and electronics skills, including soldering
Competence with interpreting wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
Methodical approach to troubleshooting and fault-finding
Strong organisational and teamwork skills
Comfortable using MS Office and other basic IT tools
Flexible and proactive attitude with a willingness to adapt to business needs
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Degree, HND, or completed apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field
OR 3+ years of experience in a technician role with transferable technical skills
Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO9001 is advantageous
