This role provides an excellent opportunity to begin a rewarding career in early years education whilst undertaking a recognised qualification. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Main Duties and Responsibilities: To assist in the creation of a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment for children aged 2–4 years To support the planning and delivery of engaging activities that promote learning and development across all areas of the EYFS. To contribute to the preparation, organisation and maintenance of learning resources and play areas. To assist with daily routines, including snack preparation, personal care, and transitions between activities. To support the observation and recording of children’s progress, contributing to assessments, and reporting to parents under the direction of senior staff. To promote children’s personal, social and emotional development through positive interaction and role modelling. To work effectively as a member of the nursery team, following all school policies and safeguarding procedures. To attend training sessions, complete coursework, and actively engage in all aspects of the apprenticeship programme. Person Specification Essential: A genuine interest in working with young children and supporting their education and development. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions, work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate reliability and punctuality. A caring, patient and professional approach. Willingness to work towards English and mathematics qualifications if not already achieved. Desirable: GCSE (or equivalent) in English and mathematics.
