Mechanical Design Engineer

Great opportunity here to join a leading company within its field. You will be managing projects from concept to completion using SolidEdge.
The Role:
* Manage mechanical design projects within cost constraints.
* Design probing and handling mechanisms for test fixtures and custom engineering solutions.
* Liaise with customers on projects and their mechanical requirements
* Detailed design to customer specifications (implementing changes if necessary)
* Work as part of a project team with engineers from other disciplines
* Producing drawings to BS8888 for manufacture and General Assembly
* Sourcing components and producing accurate parts lists
* Carry out factory acceptance tests (and site acceptance tests, when required)
* Integration of mechanical assembly into complete systems
* Work within ISO procedures (controlled documentation and change control management
The Candidate:
* Minimum 2 years experience within Design. Ideally Test and Measurement industry.
* Familiarity with machined components and assembly techniques.
* Experience with a 3d drawing package, SolidEdge ideal but Solidworks or Inventor also fine.
* Experienced in concept to completion design ownership.
* Good analytical skills.
* Experience working within tight deadlines.
