We are seeking a Business Cost Analyst to join the Waste & Decommissioning (W&D) team. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, compliant, and commercially efficient solutions are delivered across complex nuclear waste and project lifecycles. About the Role As Business Cost Analyst, you will be a key member of the Business Controls team, supporting the coordination and monitoring of planning, resource management, and financial performance across projects. You'll ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis, enabling data-driven decision-making and helping the organisation meet its strategic goals. Key Responsibilities Act as a bridge between finance, project controls, and the wider Business Controls function Monitor and report financial performance using SAP, Power BI, and Excel Analyse cost data, identifying trends, variances, and risk thresholds Support business planning including monthly, annual, and long-term budget development Create high-quality dashboards and reports for stakeholders and executive reviews Maintain revenue forecasts and contribute to performance reviews and audit readiness Engage regularly with Project Managers, Finance Partners, and Business Planning teams Essential Skills & Experience Strong understanding of the project lifecycle and business planning processes Advanced Excel and Power BI skills Experience in cost engineering, commercial management, and financial performance analysis Highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail and communication skills Able to present complex data in a clear, actionable format for various stakeholders Desirable Qualities Strong stakeholder engagement skills SAP experience Ability to challenge and improve existing processes A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams Pay Rate: £60 – £65 per hour (c£520 day rate). Working Pattern: Hybrid (Fully on site initially, hybrid working available once fully settled into role, 3 days in office 2 days from home) Contract Type: Temporary, 12 – 18 months with possible extension
