Role Title: Personal Injury - Associate Solicitor Location: Edinburgh Status: Full Time (35 hours per week) Salary: £50,000 Level: 5 Years’ PQE Ref: AI919 Overview: A leading and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Solicitor to join their busy Personal Injury team in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with 5 years’ PQE to step into a senior role, managing both a varied caseload and a team of legal professionals. The firm offers a specialist accident claims service and is known for delivering high-quality legal advice and outstanding client care across all aspects of personal injury law. The Role: As an Associate Solicitor, you will play a key role in the leadership and development of a dynamic personal injury team. You’ll be responsible for supervising junior lawyers and handling your own caseload of complex and high-value claims, including RTA, EL/PL, vehicle damage and credit hire matters. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage a team of solicitors handling a range of personal injury claims Manage your own caseload, with a focus on complex or high-value cases Provide technical guidance on liability, causation, and quantum assessments Ensure compliance with relevant litigation procedures and pre-action protocols Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings where required Conduct regular file reviews and ensure quality control across the team Mentor and develop junior team members, offering training and feedback Engage with third-party experts including medical professionals and engineers Manage client relationships, ensuring a high standard of client care Contribute to business development and the firm’s strategic goals Promote adherence to firm policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations Maintain accurate records and case management through internal systems Monitor and support the delivery of service level agreements About You: Qualified Solicitor in Scotland with 5 years’ PQE Experience supervising or mentoring junior solicitors Strong understanding of Sheriff Court and Court of Session procedures Confident in drafting, negotiation, and litigation strategy Commercially aware with a track record of meeting performance targets Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage challenging situations Knowledge of credit hire is desirable Proactive, solutions-focused and team-oriented IT literate with good organisational skills Committed to continuous professional development What’s on Offer: Competitive base salary Discretionary bonus scheme 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and a birthday day off Holiday purchase/sale scheme (up to 5 days) Funded training and recognised qualifications Career development and internal promotion opportunities Pension scheme Company-wide social events Death in service cover Staff referral bonus How to Apply: A fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking firm that values career progression, high-quality work, and employee wellbeing.
