Main duties of the job
Conduct patient consultations and clinical assessments

Job responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced and patient-centred Prescribing Paramedic to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services, supporting safe and effective prescribing, and improving patient outcomes through medicines optimisation and evidence-based care.
The Prescribing Paramedic will work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess, treat, and manage patients within their scope of practice while ensuring compliance with all professional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct patient consultations, clinical assessments, and medication reviews
Prescribe medications safely and appropriately as an Independent Prescriber
Support the management of long‑term conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, COPD, and cardiovascular disease
Review and optimise patient medications to improve safety, adherence, and clinical outcomes
Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust therapy where clinically appropriate
Identify and reduce prescribing risks, polypharmacy issues, and medication errors
Provide patients with advice and education regarding medicines and treatment plans
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical records
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development
Ensure compliance with NHS guidelines, local policies, and professional standards
Participate in continuing professional development and mandatory training
Experience
* Experience of EMIS Web Clinical System.
* Qualifications and Certificates in Prescribing
* Chronic Disease Management / Minor Ailments Computer Skills.
* Experience of working in a GP Practice
Qualifications
* Registered Paramedic
* Independent or advanced prescribing qualification
