The Role
You will be responsible for leading the tax compliance and reporting operations, ensuring the accurate and timely submission of Corporate Tax and VAT returns, and supporting strategic decision-making through expert tax guidance. Acting as a key business partner, you will influence commercial decisions, identify tax risks and opportunities, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across finance, operations, and wider business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead tax compliance and reporting, including Corporate Tax and VAT returns.
* Provide strategic tax advice on business decisions and growth plans.
* Act as a trusted advisor across business functions, ensuring tax compliance and managing risks.
* Monitor legislative changes and implement necessary business adaptations.
* Support audits and manage stakeholder relationships.
* Develop the tax team and drive continuous process improvement.
What We’re Looking For
* A qualified accountant through CTA, ACA, ACCA)
* In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax and VAT legislation.
* Strong experience in a complex commercial environment, preferably retail or consumer-facing industries.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, lead projects, and communicate complex information clearly to non-tax professionals.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a track record of identifying and delivering improvements.
