Role Overview
As part of the Sizewell C project, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the Commercial Team in managing financial and contractual aspects of the works. Working closely with the Business Development, Methods, and Cost Control teams, the Assistant QS will ensure rigorous cost management and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist in formulating tender strategies
* Develop cost planning and project budgeting including but not less than tender analysis and bidding, valuation of variation, cost estimation, subletting, extension of time claim, cash flow monitoring, certifying payment and variation and final account settlement
* Responsible for interim payment application, certifying sub-contractor’s payment valuation, final account settlement
* Provide advice on contractual terms to Project Managers and Engineers
* Monitor subcontractors performances
* Assist in resolving disputes between contracting parties
* Quantity taking off
* Maintain awareness of the different building contracts conditions in current use
Candidate profile
* Diploma or degree holder in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (building, construction, civil or structural engineering)
* A successful first experience in quantity surveying (approximately 1 to 3 years)
* Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, is required
