Project Co-ordinator: Automation & Maintenance
Derbyshire (office-based with nationwide site visits)
£40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a controls or automation background who is ready to step into a project coordination role—while still staying technically hands‑on when needed. You’ll play a key role in connecting engineers, clients, and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The Role
* Coordinate and oversee minor works projects within the system support team
* Act as the main point of contact for project planning, scheduling, and execution
* Ensure engineers are equipped with the right tools, materials, and information
* Provide technical support when required, including occasional hands‑on fault finding and system upgrades
* Liaise directly with clients, managing requirements, updates, and overall satisfaction
* Coordinate site activities and labour planning
* Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and site regulations
* Support modifications, upgrades, and maintenance across PLC, SCADA, and control systems
* Monitor project progress, manage risks, and resolve delivery issues
* Maintain accurate project documentation and records
* Collaborate with internal teams to drive continuous improvement
About You
* Experience in a coordination, supervisory, or project-based role within automation, control systems, or similar
* Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and industrial control systems
* Electrical fault‑finding and troubleshooting experience (or solid working knowledge)
* The ability to balance coordination responsibilities with technical involvement
* Excellent organisational and planning skills
* Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients and engineers
* A proactive, problem‑solving mindset
* Full UK Driving Licence
Working Hours
* 40-hour working week
* Flexible working pattern: Core hours 9:30am – 4:00pm (Monday–Thursday), early finish Fridays (1:00pm), subject to workload
* Flexibility required for UK-wide site work, including occasional nights and weekends
