Job Summary

Band 3 Clinical Support Worker Higher Level -98.25 Hours per week available

An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 3 Clinical support workers who are up to a new challenge and to develop their current skills.

Willow A is currently a large Renal/Haematology/General medical ward. The ward takes patients from the acute medical unit, A&E and direct admissions from both the renal clinics and from home.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic clinical support workers who want to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team.


Main Duties

We are looking for dedicated and caring health care assistants to come and work within our friendly team. You will assist the nurses and ward staff in the day to day delivery of all care needs to our patients.

Willow A ward is a friendly team of nurses and clinical support workers who work very closely with all other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

* Ensure the nutritional needs of the patient are met by assisting them to eat and drink. Also by helping them complete their daily menu card. Be aware of increased nutritional needs. Record accurately nutritional and fluid intake, reporting concerns to Registered Nurse.
* Ensure privacy and dignity at all times

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential)

* Level 3 vocational qualification or short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties or equivalent knowledge and experience.
* Theoretical knowledge
* Experience of a range of care and related procedures
* Clinical observations
* Knowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation
* National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
* Numeracy and literacy Level 2

Qualifications (Desirable)

* Undertaken relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers

Knowledge & Experience (Essential)

* Experience of working in health or social care
* Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalating changes or findings
* Working knowledge of legislation underpinning care provision
* Understanding of the importance of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation.
* Insight into behaviours and skills of a carer and the need for effective teamwork.
* Knowledge of Safeguarding
* Understanding work‑related boundaries.
* Awareness of GDPR and the need for confidentiality

Knowledge & Experience (Desirable)

* Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.
* Computer skills
* Clinical policies and procedures
* Evidence of understanding of Trust business
* Experience of working in the Trust previously
