Overview

Children and Young People’s (CYP) Nursing at UWE Bristol is part of the interdisciplinary School of Health and Social Wellbeing, a thriving academic community with strong links to practice and a clear focus on impact. We deliver a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.


Team and Teaching

Our CYP team is committed to the delivery of high‑quality teaching, excellent student support and outstanding applied research. We place a strong emphasis on connecting academic knowledge with the realities of contemporary nursing practice, ensuring our students are well prepared for their professional careers.

Due to our continuing growth and success, we have a fantastic opportunity for two enthusiastic and experienced academics to join the CYP team (one on a permanent basis, one on a fixed‑term basis). You will contribute primarily to pre‑registration education, with all teaching based at our Glenside Campus in Bristol.


Responsibilities

This post is predominantly a teaching post, with responsibilities including module leadership, academic personal tutoring and practice tutoring. There may be opportunities to contribute to research and knowledge exchange, but the primary focus of the role is on the delivery and development of excellent teaching and student learning.


Qualifications

You are a creative, enthusiastic and innovative individual, qualified with a minimum of a BSc in Nursing and hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

You bring a strong commitment to teaching, learning and student support, with the ability to inspire and engage students in your professional development. You will also draw on your experience of nursing practice and demonstrate a clear understanding of the contemporary challenges and opportunities within the profession. Excellent communication and teamwork skills will be essential, as you will be working collaboratively within an inclusive and supportive academic community.

We have one full‑time, permanent post available and one full‑time, fixed‑term role covering a period of maternity leave for 12 months or the earlier return of the post holder. This role is campus based with some opportunity to work from home, according to programme needs.

To ensure fairness and equity all salary offers will be made in line with the University’s salary assessment guidelines and will be based on your relevant skills and experience. This post requires enhanced DBS clearance.

We may be able to sponsor qualifying candidates for this role under the Home Office Skilled Worker visa route.

£38,784 to £58,225 per annum, Grade G/H
