Job description
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Tutor to join our team, supporting students with their learning in core subjects (English, Maths and Science).
This role would suit someone with strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping young learners reach their potential.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one or small group tutoring in English, Maths and/or Science.
2. Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs and learning styles.
3. Support with homework, exam preparation, and building study confidence.
4. Maintain accurate records of progress and feedback for parents/guardians.
Contract/Position Details:
5. Location – Within the community or pupils’ home
6. Position – Part time core subjects tutor
7. Type of work – Contract
8. Start date – ASAP
9. Duration – Until the pupil can reintegrate into a new school placement
10. End date (if applicable) – Ongoing
11. Contract type – Temporary
12. Full-time/part-time – Part time (15 hours per week, per student)
13. Minimum rate of pay – £25 – £30 per hour
14. Hours – Working hours can differentiate, depending on the convenient timings of the family
Experience, Training and Qualifications of the 1:1 Outreach Tutor:
15. QTS or equivalent
16. Possess UK classroom teaching experience
17. Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
18. Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 Outreach Tutor must:
19. Hold the right to work in the UK
20. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
21. Provide two professional child-related references.
