Salary: £30,000 - £33,000

Role Overview:
Our client seeks an IT Engineer based on a school site to join our managed service team as an Assistant Network Manager. The role involves supporting ICT infrastructure and services within the school environment.
Key Tasks:
1. ICT Support Service On-site:
o Provide specialist ICT support to ensure high-quality learning facilities.
o Assist the Network Manager and potentially lead satellite sites, requiring the ability to work independently.
o Support staff and pupils with ICT requirements using your skills and training.
o Maintain specialist equipment, perform repairs, and ensure safety and quality standards.
o Advise and guide school staff on ICT matters.
o Communicate technical information effectively, tailored to the audience.
o Implement work programmes under supervision.
o Manage stock within budget, conduct audits, and maintain records.
o Comply with policies on child protection, health and safety, security, and confidentiality.
o Mentor junior staff members.
o Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act 1984 regarding data security and accuracy.
2. Technical Expertise:
o Connect and check hardware operation.
o Set up desktop environments and install software.
o Perform basic network setup and maintenance tasks.
o Manage user accounts and utilize utilities for network monitoring.
3. Processes:
o Follow acceptance testing procedures for new ICT equipment.
o Keep records of hardware and software.
o Maintain software libraries and original application copies.
o Transport IT equipment within the site.
o Follow disaster recovery and maintenance plans.
o Implement backup and virus protection procedures.
o Log support requests and investigate issues, escalating when necessary.
o Record time spent on tasks and compare to expectations.
4. Holiday Work:
o Potential involvement in project work during holidays.
5. Other Responsibilities:
o Monitor legal and LEA responsibilities.
o Develop and follow H&S procedures.
o Self-regulate and perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Work Experience Requirements:
* Experience in helpdesk or support environment.
Education Requirements:
* Degree or Masters in Computing, or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or equivalent experience.
* Additional specialist IT qualifications (e.g., Aruba, Cisco, HP).
