We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our Mental Health team at HMP Wakefield, a category A prison located in Wakefield.
Hours
Monday – Friday, 0800 – 1600
Salary
Full‑time, up to £33,510 per annum.

Responsibilities
* Support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients within the service/team, across all pathways, providing psychological assessment and interventions.
* Identify patients who may benefit from psychological intervention, following mental health triages and in discussion with the multi‑disciplinary team, and prioritise according to clinical need, risk, and release planning under the guidance of a qualified psychologist.
* Provide comprehensive psychological assessment, including risk assessment, and develop formulations to support patients and other MDT members in making sense of their difficulties.

Experience & Qualifications
* Experience working in a paid Assistant Psychologist role
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology; entitlement to graduate basis for chartered membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society
* Evidence of foundation training in at least one evidence‑based psychological framework (e.g. CFT, CBT, DBT, ACT)
* Experience with mental health forensic populations
* Experience providing evidence‑based psychological interventions to adults with a range of mental health problems
