Overview
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while supporting ethical sourcing and recommending recipes for customers. You’ll bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life, building lasting relationships with customers and enhancing their impression of the Waitrose brand. The role includes helping maximise sales and profit, and, if you join from 5 October, any time worked between 22:00–06:00 will attract Night Premium at £3.50 per hour for those enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring the highest presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
* Stay on top of stock levels to ensure products customers love are available when needed.
* Work with open food with due care, following health & safety protocols and helping to reduce food wastage.
* Maintain knowledge of new products and have a good understanding of Waitrose’s food values (e.g., animal welfare).
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as required.
Essential skills/experience
* Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable skills/experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed.
* Experience in a catering/hospitality environment.
* Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the whole branch.

* Hours of Work: Part-time (8 hours per week) — Thursday 16:00–20:00 and Friday 16:00–20:00
