Our client, a leading firm in the power utilities and distribution sector, is currently seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their team in London. This is a permanent role with the flexibility to work from home when required, providing an excellent work-life balance. The successful candidate will work on a range of renewable energy projects and have the opportunity for future progression to a Senior Civil Design Engineer.
Undertake substation civil and HV cable installation drawings, adhering to industry standards and company quality processes
Manage document control for produced drawings and log transmittal of drawings
Produce cost-effective and technically sound civil design drawings to construction-level detail
Utilise Revit for architectural detailing, including concrete reinforcement
Produce design briefs to instruct external design resources
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle
Manage external design resources to ensure civil design output meets business requirements
Audit design work for compliance with relevant standards and financial management
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, including complex 2D and 3D drawings, families, libraries, and more
Experience with utility infrastructure projects is preferred
Competent in using ROBOT structural calculation software for rebar design validation
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office software
A degree in a relevant engineering subject is preferred, but significant experience is equally important
Understanding of construction industry practices, contracts, and the design and construction process
Sound knowledge of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
