Salary: £33,603 rising to £37,020 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension
Hours per week: This role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
About the role:
Owing to the nature of the role, candidates will need to have reached the age of 18 by the start date.
Please read the shift pattern before applying to ensure you will be able to undertake the required shift pattern. The shift pattern is set and there can be no adjustments to this.
Training for the role will be based at Police Headquarters, Exeter Monday to Friday. Training dates are planned for 22 July 2026 to 11 September 2026 - no leave will be approved during these dates due to essential training for the role. Please ensure you are able to commit to this before applying.
* The commencing salary is £40,323 per annum inclusive of the 20% shift allowance, plus a maximum of £2500 weekend working allowance (which is claimable once working the attached shift pattern after the training period).
* There is a potential to earn up to £44,424 this includes 20% shift allowance and up to £2500 Weekend working allowance (which is claimable once working the attached shift pattern) when you have reached 4 years service.
The role:
This is a unique job for a unique person which demands excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and a positive attitude. You must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment as part of a close knit, supportive team, as well as make decisions in situations which may at times be distressing. The ability to listen effectively, multi‑task and type information accurately is essential.
Resource and Incident Management Officers provide a vital link between members of the public and operational Police Officers, whilst making a key contribution to the lives of those across Devon and Cornwall when they are most in need.
You will work closely with our Police Officers, deploying them to both routine and emergency incidents via police radio channels whilst prioritising the vulnerable, assessing risk and responding appropriately according to needs.
The role will also require you to assist in taking 999 calls and calls from other agencies such as the ambulance service.
