Lead Engineer (Structures/Harbours) – 35 hours per week. Permanent position with salary £50,562 - £53,482 / £27.71 - £29.31 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance).

Lead Engineer (Structures/Harbours) role, with potential involvement in harbour projects funded by capital and revenue, coastal protection, flood prevention, bridges and building structures, and possibly wind farm and marine energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities
* Lead a small but ambitious civil/structural engineering team on projects including piers and harbours, coastal protection, flood prevention, bridges and building structures.
* Provide services for the maintenance and ongoing development of harbours civil infrastructure, including linkspan and walkway assets across 29 ports and piers.
* Contribute to the Harbours Master Plan and potential delivery of major pier projects.
* Support potential delivery of wind farm and marine energy infrastructure projects.
* Design and manage projects in collaboration with the Service Manager Engineering and stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE or IStructE).
* Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in design or construction roles.
* NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or equivalent is desirable.
* Ability to travel efficiently between Orkney work locations to meet operational requirements.
* Disclosures: Level 1 Disclosure Scotland clearance required.
