Visitor Experience Officer - Torpoint Summary Important notice In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from employees who are under formal notice of redundancy. Being a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit. Salary: 10,717.20 pro rata (FTE 26,793 per annum) Contract: Permanent Hours/working pattern : 780 hours per year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. As Antony is only open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from April to October, as well as Bank Holidays, Sundays from the end of May and to the end of August, and occasional other days, we expect most of the hours to be weighted towards when Antony is open to the public, with fewer working hours between November and March. Working location: This role is based at Antony House, located in Torpoint, Cornwall. Due to it’s location, it’s likely you will need your own transport to get there. What it's like to work here Antony House is part of the Tamar Valley Property Group which includes Buckland Abbey in Devon and Cotehele in Cornwall. Antony is still home to the Carew Pole Family and tells the story of a family who became caught up in the extraordinary events of the English Civil War and is believed to be one of the finest surviving Queen Anne buildings in the West Country. What you'll be doing As Visitor Experience Officer, your main focus will be on providing a great service for visitors. With your team, you’ll be welcoming people and inspiring them to really get to know Antony House. This might include devising and running events and activities, and creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who comes here. You'll encourage visitors to take a closer look at artworks or precious objects cared for by the Trust. Who we're looking for Applications from redeployees are assessed against the minimum criteria for the role. In your application, please provide details of how you meet the minimum criteria below: an understanding of visitor engagement, inclusive interpretation, and audience development in cultural or heritage settings teamworking and leadership skills to support and develop staff and volunteers organisational and co-ordination skills to manage bookings, events, and day-to-day visitor operations financial awareness, including budget monitoring and resource planning awareness of health and safety, safeguarding, and accessibility standards Additional criteria for all other applicants.
