OVERVIEW: The Sourcing Director owns and leads the global sourcing and materials strategy to deliver on time product, margin, and operational goals. This role manages material procurement spend, enables product newness, drives GP1 improvement, and ensures robust vendor and capacity planning. With a focus on supply chain de-risking and sustainability, the Director oversees vendor partnerships, raw material sourcing and delivering operational excellence across a global sourcing network. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Responsible for: Develop and deliver a global sourcing strategy that enables speed-to-market, world-class product, cost competitiveness, and a resilient, multi-origin supply chain across all categories. Build long-term, strategic vendor partnerships based on trust, transparency, and mutual growth. Drive supplier performance, reliability, and capability through robust engagement and management. Lead supplier payment term negotiations to optimise working capital, improve cash flow, and reduce costs—while protecting supplier relationships. Anticipate and mitigate sourcing risks including tariffs, geopolitical shifts, logistics constraints, and single-source dependencies. Drive regionalisation and diversification strategies to strengthen resilience. Collaborate with Commercial and Supply chain to streamline the buy process, maximising production efficiency across our supply base. Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sourcing team that thrives on ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Own raw material sourcing end-to-end—aligned to seasonal timelines and design intent. Drive global consistency, material consolidation, quality, and open costing to meet business goals. Deliver GP1 improvement through cross-functional initiatives: material optimisation, supplier leverage, and product engineering. Lead the sourcing calendar across functions to meet the commercial plan. Define critical path milestones and mitigate timeline risks proactively. Manage global material spend with a data-first approach to reduce lead times, cut waste, and uncover value. Rationalise the global supply base for improved agility, margin control, and better strategic alignment across core and seasonal lines. Lead vendor capacity planning to align with forecasted demand, seasonal rebuys, and long-term growth. Work with Merchandising/planning and Production to eliminate bottlenecks. Partner with Design, Product, and R&D to source and scale new materials/products that unlock innovation and performance. Collaborate on structured vendor onboarding and exit processes that align with technical, ethical, and environmental standards. Use PLM, ERP, and analytics platforms to track timelines, spend, vendor capacity, and performance KPIs. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Essential Criteria: 10 years in global sourcing, with senior leadership experience Deep expertise in global sourcing practices and product development/manufacturing processes across all product categories Strong background in GP1 improvement, costing, and margin enhancement strategies Proven success in de-risking global supply chains through vendor and geographic diversification Exceptional commercial acumen, vendor negotiation, and leadership skills Industry experience in apparel, textiles, or performance product categories preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to deliver presentations to various business levels. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and data management systems such as PLM. Ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate effectively to get the most out of stakeholders. Collaborative and team orientated. Ability to cope with change in a fast-moving energetic environment.
