Category Manager – Acquisition, Design, Engineering & ConstructionPerm Role Theale\Reading - Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite)You would need to be eligible to work in the UK without the need for SponsorshipAbout the Role:The Category Manager will have Ownership of a range of sub-categories within the Company’s key delivery offer including Acquisition, Design, Engineering and Construction, along with the associated company spend and relevant supplier base. You will develop appropriate commercial strategies and approaches to optimise value-for-money and minimise supplier-related risk and will own, develop & deliver sourcing events (both traditional & e-sourcing) which fully align with the Company’s Corporate Procurement Policy. Financial contribution will be linked to an industry standard methodology and aligned with commercial structure. Working in conjunction with a range of internal stakeholders, the Procurement Category Manager will drive commercial benefit, service delivery improvement and process efficiency.What is needed for the role:Degree educated \CIPS Membership (Preferred)7+ years in a relevant Procurement or Supply Chain Management environmentHands-on category management, negotiating and presentational skills. RFP/Sourcing Event management. Procurement and supplier management experience in an estates management, professional service or asset management background. Sound understanding and awareness of political issues, sensitivities and developments, and how they influence the requirements for Companies and ShareholdersGoal deployment of strategy and process creation. Strategic and collaborative thinker. Complex problem solver and guide / influencer to others in the resolution of complex issues. Independent workerExperience delivering change and improvement across partnerships and organizational boundaries. Ability to design, develop and manage Category sourcing strategies. Design, develop and manage operational models, processes and governance structures. Planning, prioritizing and delivering improvements to achieve objectives within timescales.
