Role: Technical Support Engineer

Hays Technology are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join an exciting public sector client's team. They are looking to undertake two major transformation projects – a full hardware refresh and a system upgrade. To support this, they are looking for two experienced BAU 1st/2nd Line Support Engineers to maintain day-to-day operations.
What you will be doing:
1. Delivering hands-on technical support across a busy IT environment
2. Managing tickets via the department’s service desk system
3. Providing both face-to-face and remote support to a diverse user base
4. Supporting Active Directory tasks including password resets and account provisioning
5. Handling desktop support, printer issues, and general hardware troubleshooting
6. Supporting Windows 10 and 11 environments
7. Maintaining and supporting O365 applications
8. Working in a fast-paced, varied workload environment
What we are looking for:
9. Proven 1st/2nd line support experience in a BAU setting
10. Strongmunication and interpersonal skills – able to support users at all levels
11. Experience with Active Directory, desktop support, and ticketing systems
12. Familiarity with Winpath would be desirable
13. Public Sector experience strongly preferred
14. Knowledge of Windows OS, O365, and general IT troubleshooting
15. Ability to work independently and managepeting priorities
