An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Optimisation Team supporting inpatient services across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon, and Wiltshire, with the primary base at Chippenham Community Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
This key role involves delivering a safe, efficient, and high‑quality ward‑based pharmacy service within a community hospital setting. You will support medicines optimisation in line with national and local policies, improving patient outcomes through the safe, effective, and cost‑conscious use of medicines. Responsibilities include supporting cost‑effective prescribing, contributing to medicines budget management, reducing medicines wastage, and supporting wider medicines management and service improvement initiatives. You will work with a high degree of autonomy within agreed guidelines, using your initiative to support the delivery of the wider medicines optimisation strategy. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide professional medicines‑related advice and support to clinicians, nursing staff, and patients, responding to daily medication queries and requests requiring excellent communication skills and strong organisational abilities.
