Overview
North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Repairs and Maintenance Co-ordinator to join our Housing Maintenance and Development team. This is a key supervisory role, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, cost-effective repairs and maintenance service across our housing stock.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support repairs and maintenance teams.
* Ensure compliance with Council financial procedures and health & safety legislation.
* Develop and maintain efficient work systems and procedures.
* Plan and prioritise workloads, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
* Undertake property surveys and prepare technical documentation and reports.
* Manage pre- and post-inspections, maintaining accurate records and audit trails.
* Provide technical support to tradespeople and contractors.
* Monitor performance using agreed KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
* Foster strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, elected members, and tenants.
Qualifications and experience
* Proven experience in a similar supervisory or coordination role within repairs and maintenance.
* Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance and health & safety regulations.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
* Experience in preparing specifications, reports, and tender documentation.
