Our client has a brand-new Staff opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor.
This position is based at the new Import Export Terminal in Grangemouth.
Note: This position is only open to UK Citizens.
Overview:
To provide cost assurance on all Contractor spend across all PISML Terminal Term Contracts and Projects, ensuring the business only pays for actual work done in accordance with the terms of the contracts through robust auditing and contract management.
To manage monthly service receipting and payments to each supplier of services to the Terminal, ensuring payments are made in accordance with contractual entitlements.
Dimensions:
* Total Annual Spend – cost assurance on all Terminal contracts/Projects over GBP 2M
* 1 Fuels terminal
* Contracts value – ranging from GBP 50k – 500K
* Activity – up to 25 submissions per month, each up to GBP 50k
Experience Required:
* Ensure fair and ethical commercial management of Contracts and Contractors (Term and non-Term), protecting PIMSL Business interests and reputation.
* Manage relationships with Contractors to ensure timely resolution of variations and maintain good commercial relationships.
* Interrogate and analyze complex monthly spend data to ensure value for each Contract.
* Produce monthly Contractor Cost Reports.
* Control and approve interim payments within Delegation Of Authority levels.
* Analyze spend data for contractual disputes, interfacing with Procurement on claims and variations.
* Track Terminal-wide spend by Contractor for Procurement.
* Lead audits of work to ensure payment accuracy and contractual compliance.
* Manage Contract Variations, ensuring they are documented, understood, and communicated.
* Collaborate closely with other PIMSL colleagues.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Graduate Quantity Surveying or similar qualification with 6-10 years of experience.
* Contract administration experience in Construction/Manufacturing with a track record of managing complex, high-value Contracts.
* Experience with various Contract styles and arrangements.
* Negotiation skills.
* Understanding of Terminal Risk management in contracts.
* Expertise in Maximo, Maximo Business Objects, SAP systems.
* Expert in Excel, capable of preparing detailed reports and presenting complex data clearly.
* Strong commercial awareness.
