As a Principal Site Reliability Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Mergers & Acquisitions SRE team, you will work with your stakeholders to define non-functional requirements (NFRs) and availability targets for your application and product lines. You will ensure these NFRs are incorporated into your products' design and testing phases, monitor customer experience through service level indicators, and define and implement service level objectives in collaboration with stakeholders.
We are seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to join our mergers & acquisitions SRE team! Your expertise in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace will be crucial in integrating email, chat, storage, and collaboration platforms during merger projects. You will also focus on maintaining infrastructure resilience and scalability, directly impacting our operations. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing change management practices, and analyzing data for strategic insights. Job Responsibilities
1. Create high-quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters, either directly or through guidance to other engineers.
2. Provide advice and mentorship to engineers and serve as a key resource for technical and business-related issues.
3. Demonstrate and promote site reliability principles and practices daily, advocating for their adoption across your team.
4. Collaborate to design and implement observability and reliability solutions for complex systems that are robust, stable, and minimize toil and technical debt.
5. Develop expertise in the applications and platforms within your scope, understanding their interdependencies and limitations.
6. Evolve and debug critical components of applications and platforms.
7. Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to ensure resiliency and scalability.
8. Utilize Microsoft tools such as PowerShell, Azure AD, Graph API, SQL Server, and Reporting Services for maintaining and enhancing cloud services.
9. Apply change management practices and agile methodologies to implement account-level changes, including testing, documentation, and guidance for global operations.
10. Acquire comprehensive knowledge of datasets necessary for strategic deployments and tenant management.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
1. Formal training or certification in site reliability principles, with advanced experience.
2. Expertise in observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, DataDog, Splunk, including monitoring, SLIs, alerting, and telemetry collection.
3. Deep knowledge of software applications and technical processes in one or more disciplines.
4. Ability to communicate complex data-driven solutions effectively through reporting and visualization.
5. Active contribution to the engineering community.
6. Experience evaluating vendor offerings and integrating them into strategic planning.
7. Strong troubleshooting skills for defects during testing phases.
8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor on site reliability principles.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft OneDrive & SharePoint Online, including datasets, retention policies, and migration tools like Quest and AvePoint.
10. Experience with PowerShell, Azure AD, Graph API, SQL Server, and Reporting Services.

1. Knowledge of change management and agile frameworks for global tenant-wide changes.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams including product, engineering, legal, cybersecurity, operations, vendors, and acquired companies.
