Job Description:

We are seeking a kind, organized, and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Statham Manor Care Centre, a purpose-built care facility located in Lymm, Cheshire. This full-time, permanent role involves assisting with meal preparations for residents and visitors, ensuring high standards of safety, hygiene, and care.

The home provides care to 66 residents with various needs, including residential and nursing care, and is rated GOOD by CQC. We invest in the latest technology and offer a comprehensive programme of activities to enhance residents' wellbeing. Our staff are employed directly, paid at or above the national living wage, with ongoing training and development.

We offer a 35-hour contract with an hourly rate of £11.44. Shift times are from 08:00 to 19:00, with alternate weekends off.


Role Responsibilities:

* Assist with food preparation and cooking as directed by the Head Chef / Assistant Chef.
* Ensure all kitchen areas and equipment are cleaned according to schedules.
* Maintain compliance with Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH, and HACCP regulations.
* Follow instructions from the kitchen management team.
* Undertake daily pot washing duties.


Skills and Experience Required:

* Previous experience in food services is desirable.
* Experience working in a busy kitchen environment as part of a team is desirable.
* Effective communication skills are essential.
* A willingness to learn is essential.
* No formal qualifications are required; training will be provided.
