Our client, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Bridge Coating Inspector to join their team on a 6-month contract.
This role involves providing bridge paint inspection services for a planned bridge painting project across Hampshire, beginning in spring/summer 2026. The position will primarily be site based (around 75% of the working week) with time allowed to right up your reports from home.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspection, record and report bridge painting works according to CM 431 standards.
Work closely with the Bridge Painting Contractor(s) and comply with their site rules.
Ensure compliance with the Bridge Painting Specification and report any non-compliance immediately.
Document and report progress and compliance with project programmes.
Monitor health and safety conditions, reporting incidents or hazards promptly.
Complete and submit daily reports, including detailed photographs of work stages.
Job Requirements:
Certified Level 2 coating inspection qualification (ICorr/NACE/AMPP/Frosio).
Experience in structural and bridge painting inspections.
Proficiency in recording and reporting compliance with specifications.
In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations and environmental protection.
Full driving licence (category B) is essential.
Ability to work in variable weather conditions and environments (site-based 75% of the time).
Proficiency in MS Office (2010 onwards) for report preparation.
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to noise, working in/over water, at height, and lone working.
Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety boots, gloves, ear defenders, and safety glasses.
Potential contact with hazardous substances and varying weather conditions.
