Project Description

The project is located in Swansea and works with long-term street drinkers. It provides residential support aimed at meeting individuals’ needs, promoting independence, and enabling sustainable move-on. Funded through the Supporting People Programme Grant, it aligns with the Welsh Government’s National Outcomes Framework, which focuses on:

* Promoting Independence and Control
* Promoting Economic Progress and Financial Control
* Promoting Health and Wellbeing

Purpose of Role

Within our Swansea Substance Misuse Services at Swansea Shoreline, you will work directly with clients who are alcohol-dependent through harm reduction, some of whom may also be under the influence of illicit substances. Experience working with substance use is advantageous but full training will be provided.

You will offer residential support that enables Service Users to address housing and personal difficulties, build skills and confidence, and improve their ability to maintain future accommodation. The support will be empowering, focusing on 'doing with' rather than 'doing for,' often involving accompanying Service Users initially to familiarize them with activities or appointments. The role aims to help individuals improve their control, understanding, and involvement in managing their issues, helping them achieve their preferred outcomes. Additionally, you will assist with housing management to ensure a safe, secure, and effective service.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.

Driving Licence, business insurance, and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role, and you must have these on each shift.

We are not utilizing agency staff for this role, and kindly ask agencies not to approach us regarding this vacancy.
