Overview
World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit a Supplier Planner subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract. This role could suit a candidate from a MRP Controller, Supply Scheduler or Supply Chain Specialist background.
Role details
* Rate: £27.00 per hour
* Location: Bolton
* Hybrid / Remote working: Hybrid role of 3 days per week onsite, 2 days working from home
* Contract: 37 Hours per week
* Overtime: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at 'time and a quarter'
* Duration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)
* IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
Responsibilities
* Develop supplier planning activities and align to Oliver Wight Class A standards; strengthen relationships with Manufacturing Operations; support the procurement team; drive improved delivery and inventory performance; maintain a strong focus on on-time delivery (OTD).
* Conduct supplier visits and participate in operational reviews with suppliers; share KPI data.
* Apply MRP planning and Material Master knowledge to support improvements in supplier planning activities.
* Join a growing team and collaborate with stakeholders to support business goals; participate in regular training and development opportunities.
* Be a key member of the ISP-S sub-assemblies team and work with buyers, supply chain managers, industrial engineers, sector leads, manufacturing planners, and the supply chain excellence team.
Skillset / Experience
* Experience of working with an MRP (or similar) planning background within a manufacturing environment.
* The capability to understand errors in the data and know how to rectify them.
* Ideally experience in SAP, although not imperative as training will be given.
* Goal orientated with strong cultural awareness, excellent team working capabilities and ability to drive key decisions through the supply base.
* An ability to visit suppliers and our Stevenage office to work with stakeholders.
* Experience of working with suppliers on scheduled orders and fixed POs.
* Experience of working with both suppliers and within a manufacturing environment, with ability to negotiate and meet deadlines.
* An awareness and understanding of key supply chain KPIs.
* A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to bring new ideas and experiences to the role.
