The School and Role
Working in schools and alternative provisions teaching children aged 5 to 16 with special educational needs and disabilities. Opportunities for specialised subjects and general cover working on a supply basis. You will be part of a team that engages children in the absence of their teacher to ensure they continue their education and that the school or provision runs smoothly. As a SEND Teacher, you will work on a day-to-day, short-term, or long-term basis, with options for full and part-time positions.
The specialist schools and provisions cater to students with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties, social or emotional issues, and visual or hearing impairments. They feature excellent facilities and resources, and a staff team committed to a child-centred approach to increase engagement daily. Most locations have good public transport links; access to a vehicle is advantageous.
