Are you a commercially minded finance professional looking to step into a high-impact Assistant Financial Controller role? This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking business at the heart of engineering and innovation.
We’re looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to lead finance operations supporting complex technical projects, including manufacturing, tooling, capex, and R&D activities. You’ll collaborate directly with operational leaders, engineers, and project teams — influencing performance and guiding strategic decision-making through accurate, insightful financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead month-end close, reporting, and analysis across key business units
* Deliver accurate and timely P&Ls, balance sheets, forecasts, and variance analysis
* Track and manage capital investment (capex), tooling, and R&D expenditure
* Partner with project and engineering teams to review costs, budgets, and progress against plan
* Support investment appraisals, business cases, and cost-benefit analysis
* Own statutory reporting, audit preparation, and compliance with internal controls
* Drive continuous improvement in reporting, systems, and processes
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role
* Background in manufacturing, engineering, automotive, or project-based industries
* Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial governance
* Qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
* Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
* A proactive, hands-on mindset and ability to challenge and influence stakeholders
