Contract Type: Temporary in the first instance, Term Time Only plus 5 training days

Salary: Grade 2, the starting pro-rata salary is £19,578, and the full time equivalent is £22,737 there is a pay award pending.
The governors are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant, specialising in PE/sports, to help us deliver our Sport Premium work at St Augustine’s CE Primary School.
The main purpose of the job is too support the access to physical activity and provide general support for the school in the management of pupils and resources as directed.
We are looking for a person who:
1. Under the guidance of teaching staff, be confident to coach a wide range of different sports/physical activities
2. Has a passion for inspiring children’s learning
3. will contribute positively to promote the values and ethos of our school and in developing relationships with the local community
4. Is able to support our teachers to achieve excellence
5. Is reliable and enthusiastic
6. Can deliver specific support to raise the attainment of under-performing children and groups
7. Can enthuse, motivate and engage children in all areas of sports
8. Can work independently to deliver, monitor and evaluate the success of sports interventions
9. Can keep detailed notes on progress, impact and attendance
10. Is able to work effectively as part of a team
11. Has excellent communication skills and is committed to building positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
12. Will be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community
13. Can run before and after school clubs
14. Is committed to continuous self-development
