The Vacancy
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team and work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm on a diverse portfolio of projects. You’ll play a key role in helping us deliver high-quality, efficient services to a wide range of private sector clients, ensuring projects are well-governed, commercially sound and delivered to a consistently high standard.
This role may involve regular travel away from your home office and periods of time spent working at client sites across the UK, offering variety and the opportunity to build strong, trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
What will your role look like?
As a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of multiple client projects, providing clear direction, strong governance and proactive leadership throughout the full project lifecycle. You’ll work closely with lead consultants, clients and internal teams to translate strategic objectives into well-structured, deliverable plans, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to scope.
You’ll be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, adapting your approach to suit different projects and stakeholders while championing best practice in project delivery across the firm.
Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:
1. Overarching responsibility for the strategic planning and ongoing management of a portfolio of client projects of varying sizes, complexity and duration
2. Working collaboratively with lead consultants and clients to define project scope, objectives, milestones and delivery timelines
3. Establishing and embedding effective project governance, reporting and control frameworks
4. Building and managing strong relationships with key stakeholders
5. Producing clear and comprehensive project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
6. Identifying, managing and mitigating project risks and issues
7. Monitoring project plans to ensure delivery on time, within budget and to scope
8. Chairing and facilitating project meetings, including senior and Board-level forums
9. Managing change through appropriate change control processes
10. Effectively managing project budgets and taking corrective action where required
11. Supporting wider team objectives, including account development and new business opportunities
12. Mentoring and coaching colleagues, with potential line management responsibilities
13. Keeping up to date with project management tools, techniques and best practice
To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:
14. Experience in a Programme or Project Management role or similar
15. Proven experience managing multiple, complex projects concurrently
16. Strong client-facing consulting experience with the ability to build trusted relationships
17. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
18. PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification, or strong experience using PRINCE methodologies
19. Proficient use of project management tools, techniques and relevant software
20. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
21. Demonstrable leadership skills and a collaborative approach to working
22. High attention to detail, resilience and commercial awareness
23. Experience in financial services or employee benefits consultancy would be advantageous
*Please note that as part of the recruitment process for this opportunity, candidates will be asked to deliver a short presentation*
We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our full support. We would also love to hear about other knowledge and experience you may have that is not listed but could be of interest.
In addition to a competitive salary and access to our profit share scheme, we offer:
24. A flexible selection of employee benefits, so you can choose a package that best matches your lifestyle and needs.
25. A collaborative and encouraging work environment where your thinking and ideas are encouraged.
26. On site mental health and wellbeing assistance.
27. A commitment to helping you develop both personally and professionally, with mentoring opportunities and access to our award-winning learning portal, Aspire.
28. Regular social activities, in addition to three days paid volunteering leave each year and a day’s leave to celebrate your birthday.
29. Hybrid working so you can enjoy the positive wellbeing of working from home as well as the benefits of meeting colleagues in our sociable, modern office environments – with the expectation of two ‘in-office’ days per week.
30. A flexible working window, allowing colleagues the freedom to work flexibly between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
Please note that we recruit on a rolling basis so early applications are recommended to avoid disappointment.
