Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and a flair for food preparation, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef/ in supervising kitchen staff, maintaining high culinary standards, and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Duties
* Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring all food production meets quality standards.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef/Owner to develop new menu items and enhance existing dishes.
* Ensure proper inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Help oversee food presentation and plating to ensure aesthetic appeal.
* Address any issues that arise in the kitchen promptly and effectively.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
* Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques and food production processes.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
* A genuine passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
