Following the Mayor’s decision to bring buses back under local control, there has never been a better time to join our Travel Information Team within Passenger Experience. As our new Travel Information Officer, you will play a key role in the transition to a franchised bus network, helping to shape the future of public transport services for the people of West Yorkshire.

You will be responsible for entering and managing bus registration data within our Public Transport Data Management system. This data powers a wide range of passenger information outputs, including printed timetables, website content, roadside displays, real-time information systems, journey planners (both local and national), and travel apps.

Your work will support six major planned bus service changes each year, ongoing ad-hoc updates and seasonal variations - all of which must meet strict deadlines. Accuracy is key. As a Travel Information Officer, your attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment will ensure passengers have the timely, accurate information they need.

Our Offer

· Work your way – From flexible and agile working options, including a generous flexi-time scheme to help you balance your personal life and career.

· Time to recharge – Enjoy 28 days of annual leave (with increases based on length of service), plus all Bank Holidays.

· Free greener travel across West Yorkshire – Cover your commute sustainably with unlimited free bus and rail travel using the MCard (Zones 1–5).

· Secure your future – Benefit from a highly competitive Local Government Pension Scheme.

· Investing in you – Take advantage of fully funded professional development, regular training, and up to 3 paid volunteering days per year.

· Grow with us – Incremental salary progression for most roles and annual cost of living increases.

· Family first – We offer enhanced parental and bereavement leave, plus other family-friendly policies to support you when it matters most.

· Your wellbeing, our priority – Access 24/7 free confidential counselling services and the Headspace app for you and up to 5 family or friends.

· Modern workspace in a prime location – Work in bright, contemporary offices just a 2-minute walk from Leeds Train Station, fully equipped with the latest tech.

· Interpreting and interrogating technical bus service registration documents for accuracy. Identifying issues/potential issues, assessing the impact across all customer information outputs (timetables, journey planner etc) and investigating the root cause and implementing solutions

· Sort Road Side Displays (RSDs) into geographical and numerical order to fixed deadlines for the major service changes. (to note - the sorting of roadside displays is done at our facility in Batley, this particular aspect of the role can be physically demanding).

Please review the Role Profile on our website for more information about the responsibilities.
