Hours: Monday‑Friday 08:30 - 18:00 with 1 hour lunch and Saturdays 08:30 - 13:00 on a rota basis

This is an exciting opportunity to join City West Country in our Mercedes‑Benz of Taunton dealership! We’re looking for a motivated and results‑driven Local Business Development Manager to grow our van sales within our Mercedes‑Benz and Maxus teams and make a real impact in the market. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and nurturing strong relationships with your client base, ensuring long‑term partnerships that continue to thrive. You’ll proactively identify new opportunities, using data and insights to drive performance and maximise sales potential.

About the Role
In this role, you will drive the sale of new and used LCVs, consistently achieving targets while identifying and maximising every sales opportunity. You will deliver excellent customer service by building strong, long‑term relationships, while developing a network of suppliers to support sales activity. Working closely with the aftersales team, you will ensure a seamless customer experience and play a key role in building and growing a loyal client base. You will also be responsible for achieving revenue targets in line with annual budgets.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver sales in line with the company and standards and processes
* Administer all finance and insurance products in line with CWC standards and processes in addition to statutory requirements
* Communicate with our marketing team to ensure vehicle information, specification and pricing is up to date
* Communicate and develop strong personal relationships with customers and business partners
* Offer sound advice and product knowledge to customers on vehicles, prices, specifications and technical data
* Assess used Vans and conduct technical appraisals on part‑exchange vehicles
* Manage all customer leads to point of sale and delivery
* Run an efficient contact management diary, ensuring all leads are maximised
* Conclude sales in a professional manner and with the best interest of the company
* Maintain accurate information of customer database within franchise and legal guidelines
* Organise all administrative aspects of the transaction in line with the customers expectation
* Provide the customer with contacts in other departments to support the overall customer experience
* Review customer satisfaction and implement improvements
* Communicate clearly, regularly and promptly with the customer, their line manager and colleagues
* Ensure all processes are effective pre & post‑delivery in line with the company & franchise requirements
* Ensure the safety and security of people, vehicles and property at all times, reporting any known faults or hazards

* Commercially minded and thrives in a fast‑paced environment
* A positive, can‑do attitude is essential - someone who takes initiative, spots opportunities, and doesn’t let them pass by.
* Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship‑building skills.
* Understanding of finance and insurance within vehicle sales is preferred but not essential
* A proactive, customer‑first mindset with the drive to exceed targets.
* Organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple leads effectively.
