Join our Major Projects team as an Assistant Project Accountan for Net Zero Teesside(NZT) based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland, and you’ll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.
What you'll be doing
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts supporting information including profit and loss account, balance sheet, cash flows, key performance indicators and supporting commentaries in line with agreed SLA and reporting deadlines.
* Support the Project Finance Team in the maintenance of management accounting processes and implement and communicate any required changes.
* Requesting information, including Purchase Orders, Invoices, proof of payments, timesheets and any other additional information required to facilitate the audits and ensure adherence to the contract. Follow-up as required with outstanding/delayed information.
* Analysing large volumes of data, verifying the costs in line with the schedule of cost components Assist with ensuring compliance with all finance processes, controls, and regulatory framework.
* Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide effective business partnering and relationship management.
Who we’re looking for
* Part Qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent).
* Intermediate / advanced Ms Excel, Ms Power Point and Ms Word.
* Strong accounting experience with a sound understanding of management accounting disciplines.
* A good understanding and working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems including multicurrency ERP systems (preferably Oracle), applicable legislation and the statutory and regulatory framework.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
* Experience of presenting
* The ability to challenge existing process, controls and delivery to improve performance.
* A continuous improvement mentality and project related experience.
* Awareness of Financial Reporting Standards and other developments within global accounting practices and the ability to apply within the company
