Randstad is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join our specialist setting in the HD8 area, catering to children aged 9-19 (KS3) with social, emotional, and mental health needs. As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH, ensuring that learning objectives are accessible and achievable.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies and therapeutic interventions to support students in regulating their emotions and behaviors, fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and external agencies to develop and implement personalized support plans and interventions for students, addressing their social, emotional, and academic needs.
- Provide pastoral care, guidance, and mentorship to students, promoting positive relationships, self-esteem, and resilience.
- Monitor student progress and attainment, identifying areas for development and implementing targeted support and intervention strategies to facilitate academic progress and personal growth.
- Maintain accurate records, including individual behavior plans, progress reports, and safeguarding documentation, in accordance with school policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Proven experience working with children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, preferably in a specialist or alternative provision setting.
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) is essential.
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs, trauma-informed practice, and therapeutic approaches to education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
