About the Role
The Maths Support Coach will provide targeted, high-quality mathematical intervention to boost learner confidence, build essential skills, and accelerate academic progress. Working closely with the wider mathematics department and the learner support team, the postholder will deliver tailored support to students who require additional help alongside their core maths curriculum.
This role focuses heavily on inclusivity and removing barriers to learning. The successful candidate will work flexibly with diverse learner profiles, including individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring all students have equal access to success.
Key Responsibilities Covered by this Purpose:
•Targeted Intervention: Delivering structured, impactful support through both 1:1 sessions and collaborative small-group workshops.
•Skill Adaptation: Breaking down complex mathematical concepts into accessible, digestible steps tailored to individual learning paces and styles.
•SEN and EHCP Alignment: Implementing specific strategies and accommodations outlined in learners' EHCPs to support their cognitive and developmental goals.
•Confidence and Resilience: Creating a reassuring, positive learning environment that reduces maths anxiety and helps students build independent problem-solving skills.
