About the Warehouse Operation Manager Role: Competitive Salary of £55K Benefits Monday to Friday operation Based in Swindon Proposed start date is May 2026 (willing to wait longer for right candidate) Key Responsibilities for the Warehouse Operations Manager: Operational Leadership: Lead all day-to-day warehouse operations, maintaining a strong and regular presence on the warehouse floor. Work alongside teams to understand challenges first-hand and ensure effective workflow across goods-in, storage, picking, packing. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, accuracy, and cost efficiency. People Management: Motivate, coach, and develop warehouse team leaders and operatives. Create a positive, safety-focused, and high-performance culture. Manage labour planning, shift allocation, and staffing requirements aligned to operational demands. Performance & Compliance: Oversee stock accuracy, inventory control processes, and routine cycle counts. Ensure adherence to all H&S, compliance, and audit requirements. Monitor KPIs such as throughput, accuracy, pick rates, despatch timeliness, damages, and productivity. Process & Systems Management: Ensure warehouse systems (WMS, scanners, reporting tools) are used correctly and consistently. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to streamline processes. Maintain high standards of housekeeping, layout efficiency, and safe operating environments. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with planning, procurement, customer service, and transport teams to ensure smooth end-to-end operations. Act as a key operational contact for internal stakeholders when required. Essential Experience & Skills for the Warehouse Operations Manager Role: Proven experience managing warehouse operations in a hands-on leadership role. Previous understanding & experience managing P&L Strong visibility on the warehouse floor comfortable leading by example, not from behind a desk. Deep understanding of warehouse processes, best practices, and H&S requirements. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong communication and relationship-building abilities. Experience using WMS and digital warehouse tools. Personal Attributes: Practical, proactive, and solutions-focused.
